CBP Official’s Very Bad Idea

A US Customs and Border Protection official, Wilkinson, is in a whole lot of trouble for harboring his girlfriend, who’s in the country illegally. If convicted, he’s looking at up to 10 years in the slammer and a $250,000 fine. Yeah, that’s a bad day.

What Was He Thinking?

It’s not like Wilkinson didn’t know the rules – he’s a CBP official, for crying out loud. But apparently, love conquers all – even common sense. Now he’s facing serious federal charges, and it’s hard to see how he gets out of this one.

It’s a ridiculous story, and you can’t help but wonder what on earth this guy was thinking. Did he really believe he wouldn’t get caught? Newsflash: if you’re going to break the law, don’t do it when you work for the agency that enforces it.
