A law enforcement source is shooting down the latest theory that Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is linked to a burglary gone wrong. It’s a pretty ridiculous idea, if you ask me. Nighttime residential burglaries are crazy rare – they usually happen during the day, not at night.

Investigators Not Buying It

The source says Guthrie’s home wasn’t exactly a prime target for burglars, and even if it was, they wouldn’t typically take the victim with them. ‘We don’t have any indication that [Guthrie] really kept anything valuable there,’ the source said. It’s a theory that just doesn’t hold water.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos also weighed in, saying the report about investigators believing the case was a ‘burglary gone wrong’ didn’t come from his office. He’s right to be skeptical – at this point, anything is possible, but it’s unlikely that a burglary gone wrong would involve taking an 84-year-old woman.

New Leads Emerge

Meanwhile, the FBI has confirmed that a black glove found near Guthrie’s home matches the one worn by a man seen on surveillance video. The glove was sent to a private lab in Florida and preliminary DNA results are in, but officials are waiting for quality control and official confirmation before uploading the DNA profile into the FBI’s database.

It’s been 15 days since Guthrie’s disappearance, and her daughter Savannah released a new video on Sunday. Let’s hope something breaks in this case soon – Nancy Guthrie’s family deserves answers.
