Greg Bovino’s Controversial Exit

Greg Bovino, the man behind Trump’s mass deportation campaign, is retiring. It’s not exactly a surprise, given the controversy that’s followed him everywhere. Bovino was yanked from his role as U.S. Customs and Border Protection commander after two U.S. citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, died during immigration raids in Minneapolis.

A Checkered Past

Bovino’s team was notorious for arresting immigrants, including those with no criminal records, and even U.S. citizens. He sparked outrage in Los Angeles when his team arrested ‘criminal illegal immigrants’, whatever that means. The operation was met with local fury, including from Mayor Karen Bass, who confronted Bovino.

Minneapolis Mayhem

The events in Minneapolis were even more disastrous. Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent, while Pretti was fatally shot after pulling a 9mm handgun on immigration agents. It’s a miracle it didn’t get any worse. Bovino’s now announcing his retirement in an interview with Breitbart, saying it was an ‘honor’ to work with Border Patrol agents. Yeah, right.

What’s Next?

It’s unclear what’s next for Bovino, but one thing’s for sure – his legacy won’t be missed. Democrats have been slamming him and his team for being indiscriminate and aggressive, and it’s hard to argue with that. Bovino’s retirement is probably the best thing that’s happened to the immigration debate in a long time.
