DHS Funding Crisis

Democratic Rep. Glenn Ivey says it’s likely we’ll see a partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later this week. And honestly, it’s not like we haven’t seen this movie before. Funding for DHS is set to expire, and negotiations on immigration enforcement are stalled – what a shock.

Ivey’s Warning

Ivey told NewsNation’s ‘The Hill Sunday’ that ‘we may well have a shutdown. I’m not sure how it’s going to play out.’ Yeah, no kidding. It’s not like Congress has a great track record of getting things done on time. He’s right, though – it’s hard to predict what’ll happen next, given the current state of dysfunction in Washington.

So, buckle up, folks. It’s about to get bumpy. Or, you know, just more of the same old, same old in DC.
