Federal Judge Blocks California Law

A Los Angeles-based federal judge just blocked a California law that would’ve forced ICE agents to ditch their masks during operations. Judge Christina Snyder wasn’t having it, saying the law discriminates against the feds by violating the Supremacy Clause.

What’s the Supremacy Clause?

It’s simple: federal law trumps state law. Snyder argued that California’s ‘No Secret Police Act’ only applies to federal agents, not state officers – that’s not fair.

Attorney General Weighs In

Attorney General Pamela Bondi is thrilled with the ruling, saying it’s a win for federal agents who are ‘harassed, doxxed, obstructed, and attacked’ just for doing their jobs. She warned that the law would’ve made things worse for agents already dealing with safety risks.

California’s Argument

California claims the law is a safety regulation, like a speed limit. But Snyder didn’t buy it. The state can still enforce its ‘No Vigilantes Act’, which requires officers to show their agency affiliation and a personal identifier on their uniforms.
