Major Bust in the Bayou State

Louisiana’s just gotten a whole lot safer. A multi-month operation targeting violent gangs and drug peddlers has resulted in 742 arrests and the seizure of 176 firearms, along with a stash of drugs including fentanyl.

What the Cops Say

The FBI’s Jonathan Tapp says it’s all about targeting the bad guys: ‘We’re focused on drug cartels and violent gangs wherever they operate. We’re going after their supply chains, financing, and leaders.’ U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller agrees, saying the operation shows what can happen when law enforcement works together to take down violent criminal networks.

It’s not just about the numbers – though 742 arrests and 176 seized guns are nothing to sneeze at. It’s about making Louisiana a safer place, one bust at a time. As Tapp puts it, ‘We eat, sleep, and breathe violent crime. We’re committed to making New Orleans one of the safest places in the country.’ Let’s hope they’re on the right track.
