It’s official: the cold is winning. Prolonged subzero temperatures have forced schools in Greater Akron to close their doors on Thursday, because who needs an education when you can’t even feel your toes?

The Damage So Far

The polar vortex has brought the city to a grinding halt, with schools being the latest casualty. It’s not like it’s a surprise or anything – when it’s colder outside than a well digger’s behind, you know it’s time to stay inside.
