Burglars Caught Spying with Sneaky Cameras
CrimeBurglars Get Sneaky
California cops are warning people to keep their eyes peeled after burglars were caught using hidden, camouflaged cameras to spy on homes. It’s a pretty creepy tactic – they’re using these cameras to scope out targets before striking.
The Discovery
The whole thing came to light when the San José Police Department responded to a call on the east side of the city. They found that burglars had hidden a camouflaged camera in the bushes outside a home, then made a run for it. The homeowner later found the camera, and cops collected it as evidence.
It turns out the camera was attached to a power bank and was facing the house, probably so the burglars could keep an eye on the residents and plan their next move. Cops found a second device nearby – a Wi-Fi powered thingamajig – and they’re still investigating.
Staying Safe
The police department is telling people to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. They’re seeing a trend of burglars using sneaky tactics like planting hidden cameras, posing as delivery guys or landscapers, and even ringing doorbells to see if anyone’s home.
If you find a weird device on your property, don’t touch it – just call the cops. And if you notice people or cars hanging around your neighborhood that seem out of place, report it. It’s better to be safe than sorry, right?
