Two-Thirds of Americans Say System is Broken

It’s the eve of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, and a whopping two-thirds of Americans think the system of checks and balances is a joke. That’s right, folks – they don’t think the White House, Congress, and the courts are doing their job of keeping each other in line.

Americans Are Fed Up

According to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist Poll, people are getting tired of the lack of accountability. And who can blame them? It seems like nobody’s holding anybody’s feet to the fire. The poll’s results are pretty stark: most Americans don’t think the system is working well.

So, what’s the State of the Union, really? It’s a mess, if you ask most people. And with the President’s big speech looming, it’s worth wondering: will anything change? Don’t hold your breath.
