Pressure from the Top

It’s no secret the Trump administration hasn’t been a fan of programs that help racial minorities. Now, over a dozen colleges have quietly signed agreements to end their links with organizations that specifically support people of color. This move isn’t exactly surprising, given the administration’s track record, but it’s still pretty ridiculous.

What’s Behind the Decision?

Don’t expect the colleges to come out and say they’re ditching these groups because of pressure from the Trump administration. But let’s be real, that’s what’s happening here. The schools are essentially saying they won’t work with organizations that help minority students, and it’s a pretty sad state of affairs.

It’s worth noting that these organizations have been doing some great work, providing support and resources to students who really need them. So, it’s not like the colleges are cutting ties with groups that are ineffective or unnecessary. They’re just…done with them, apparently.
