Federal Judge Rules Against Kari Lake

A federal judge just voided the layoffs at Voice of America, and it’s a big deal. Judge Royce Lamberth said Kari Lake, the acting CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, ran the agency unlawfully. That’s right, it’s been ruled that Lake oversaw the media agency in violation of the Constitution’s appointments clause.

What’s Next for VOA?

It’s not like Lake’s tenure was without controversy. Critics have been saying she’s been making decisions without proper authority, and now a judge agrees. The question is, what’s next for VOA and its employees? It’s unlikely Lake will be able to just shrug this off and continue with business as usual.
