It’s About Time

The Mexican army’s finally done what they’ve been trying to do for years: they’ve killed ‘El Mencho’, the notorious leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. It’s a big deal, and it’s about time. The guy was like a ghost, always one step ahead of the law – until now.

The Operation

Details are still sketchy, but it seems the army launched a military operation that ended with ‘El Mencho’ dead. It’s not clear what happened, exactly – was it a shootout, a raid, or something else entirely? The army’s not saying, at least not yet.

What we do know is that ‘El Mencho’ was Mexico’s most-wanted man, and his death is a major blow to the cartel. It won’t stop the drug trade, of course – that’s just ridiculous – but it’s a start. And who knows, maybe this’ll be the beginning of the end for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Don’t hold your breath, though.
