Robert Mueller, the former FBI director who led the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, is dead at 81.

Mueller served as FBI director from 2001 to 2013, and it’s no secret his later work as special counsel made him a thorn in Donald Trump’s side.

A Life of Public Service

Mueller’s career spanned decades, and he won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
His investigation into Russian interference won’t be the only thing he’s remembered for, but it’s certainly what got him the most attention.
Don’t expect Trump to shed any tears, though.
