War Drums Beat Louder

President Trump’s considering a limited military strike against Iran, because that’s always worked out so well. He wants to strong-arm the Islamic Republic into a deal over its nuclear program and other issues. It’s a high-risk move that won’t guarantee the desired outcome.

Regime Change: The Unspoken Goal

Some Iranians are holding out hope that a US strike could lead to regime change. Don’t hold your breath. It’s a complex, messy situation that won’t be resolved by a few well-placed missiles. Still, it’s a tantalizing prospect for those who oppose the current government.

One thing’s for sure: the situation’s about to get a lot more interesting. Or volatile. Possibly both.
