US Strike Kills Two Suspects

US forces just carried out a lethal strike on a vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing two suspected narco-terrorists. The operation, which went down on Thursday, was aimed at a ship allegedly operated by a designated terrorist organization.

According to US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), intel showed the vessel was traveling along known narco-trafficking routes and was involved in drug trafficking ops. This is the second US strike this year – a previous one also took out two suspects and left one survivor.

New Commander Takes the Reins

The strike was ordered by Gen. Francis L. Donovan, who just took over as Commander of US Southern Command. Donovan was sworn in on Thursday and is now in charge of military ops in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. He’s got a big job ahead of him, including disrupting drug trafficking networks that threaten US interests.
