White Sox Ink Reliever Seranthony Domínguez to 2-Year Deal
SportsBig Money for Big Moments
The Chicago White Sox just finalized a two-year, $20 million deal with right-handed reliever Seranthony Domínguez. He’s got a reputation for pitching in high-pressure situations, which is exactly what the Sox are looking for.
‘That level of experience is going to be really valuable,’ said general manager Chris Getz. Domínguez will get a $1 million signing bonus and can earn up to $12 million in 2028 if he exercises his mutual option.
A Proven Track Record
Domínguez, 31, had a solid 2025 season with the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays, posting a 3.16 ERA and 20 holds in 67 relief outings. He’s also got some impressive postseason numbers, with a 1.86 ERA in 29 career playoff games.
Manager Will Venable thinks Domínguez is the real deal: ‘He’s going to be finishing a lot of games for us. We definitely view him as somebody that is going to lock us down at the back end.’
Roster Moves and Spring Training
To make room for Domínguez, the Sox cut infielder Bryan Ramos. They also announced a bunch of nonroster invitees to spring training, including top prospects Braden Montgomery, Noah Schultz, and Hagen Smith.
The team’s first workout is set for February 10, so it’s almost time to see what these new additions can do.
